Find Success with Collaboration & Shared Goals

At BuildFaast, we believe that practical experience is the best way to learn programming. Rather than follow a set curriculum, we should complete new interesting and challenging projects.

Trying to complete projects alone makes this practical approach difficult. Roadblocks can all too easily become a regular occurrence and derail our progress.

That’s why we designed the BuildFaast learning experience around community collaboration.

Collaboration & Cohort-based Courses

If you’ve already signed up for a BuildFaast cohort, you know how the community works. We join a project or tutorial we want to complete, then get the support we need from the group to complete it.

The cohort learning model encourages social interaction and collaboration with our new friends. This enhances the learning experience and builds a sense of community as we progress through projects. Sometimes when we’re working in a group, it doesn’t feel like work. It just feels like a group activity!

The fact that we’re completing the same project means we probably have specific advice to share with others who might need it. In turn, our fellow cohort members offer us the same support in return. Whenever we hit a roadblock or have any questions, the community is there to discuss it.

We also have weekly discussions around the topic material to highlight key takeaways from the source material and any challenges we may have faced. This sort of discussion encourages deeper learning of the concepts we’re tackling in each cohort.

That’s the beauty of having a network with shared goals.

Conquer Roadblocks with Shared Knowledge

If you try to remember all the 4 hour YouTube tutorials you’ve started and given up on, you might begin to understand why BuildFaast cohorts are so successful. Whether your problem tends to be motivation or getting stuck, cohort learning connects you to the support of your peers.

Whether you need help with a specific task or want to ask larger questions about your evolving career goals, you can easily connect with your cohort. This type of network will help you along your web development journey far beyond the confines of the individual cohorts.

When you join a BuildFaast cohort, you’ll see first-hand how:

  1. We are each others’ most important assets

  2. Motivation increases when groups work together

  3. Collective knowledge compensates for individuals’ knowledge gaps

We’re all in this together. That means you can also turn to your cohort for encouragement whenever you might need it.

Serial Cohorts & Extended Learning

The best thing about BuildFaast is the amount of quality content our community curates and suggests for new cohorts. With this mentality, we can keep learning together. There’s no reason to stop learning.

Even if you want to focus on your own personal projects or career, you can always come back to BuildFaast. We’ll be here in the meantime for any questions along the journey. You can always come back and join another cohort when you realize how much you missed us!

Odds are you’ll find your place within the community changes as you develop your programming and design skills. There are opportunities to step into a leadership role, which is a valuable skill in itself and looks great on a CV. You’ll even be able to earn if you decide to host a premium cohort.

The BuildFaast Way to Learn Programming

At BuildFaast, we learn best together. We will never know everything ourselves, but our collective intelligence provides a uniquely beneficial learning experience.

In this sense, we offer a great support system. We’re similar to traditional coding bootcamps, just without the hefty price tag. Our goal is to leverage the community’s collective intelligence to improve each individual’s coding and tech abilities.

If you haven’t signed up to a cohort yet, what are you waiting for?

Check out our upcoming cohorts and join our Discord to see what our community is saying. You can also suggest your own tutorial or project and we’ll help you find 10 people to complete it with you!

Learn Programming with the Motivational Power of Accountability

Web development is not for the faint of heart. Programming requires constant learning and practice. That’s why it can be tough for advanced web developers to learn a new library framework and for beginners just to get started. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or totally new to programming, motivation lies at the center of our success in tech. And the simple trick to motivation is accountability.
